With a view to obtaining a better understanding of the world economy's dynamics in the age of the fourth industrial revolution, the World Economic Forum has adopted a new methodology for drafting the Global Competitiveness Report 2019. According to the report's authors, many of the factors that will have the greatest impact on competitiveness in the future have never been at the centre of major policy decisions in the past, including creation of ideas, entrepreneurial culture, openness and agility.
This edition of the report demonstrated that Morocco has achieved good performance, particularly in relation to the following areas: macro-economic stability (43rd), institutions (45th ), financial sector (49th), infrastructure (53rd). On the other hand, the report recommended that more efforts be made to improve other areas, such as: labour market, training, the level of the ICT adoption and health.
