At the regional level, a broad body for business environment chaired by the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region was launched in a meeting held on Tuesday, 10 October 2017 at the headquarters of the Wilaya. The meeting was attended by representatives from the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM), the President of the Regional Council of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, and representatives from the CNEA secretariat, in addition to other institutional partners from both the public and private sectors.
The CNEA secretariat presented the need to integrate the territorial dimension into its field of action through the adoption of a clear vision and the setting of shared goals with the various Regional Committees for Business Environment. This vision must be supported by appropriate mechanisms and tools to ensure an effective collaboration and better implementation.
The Regional Committee for Business Environment (CREA) of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, which is chaired by the Wali of the Region and whose permanent secretariat is provided by the Regional Investment Centre (RIC), consists of several regional partners from the public and private sectors, such as: the Regional Council, the CGEM regional branch, local authorities, economic operators, professional chambers, universities and banking institutions.
The creation of this committee will contribute to strengthening the regulatory framework for business environment through adopting a participatory approach based on dialogue and consultation with all partners in respect for the principles of exchange and transparency. Thus, and in order to allow the regional committee to achieve the expected goals, a charter was signed by the Wali of the Region, the President of the Regional Council, the CGEM's Regional Director and the Director of the Regional Investment Centre .
