This reform is meant to reduce the period of time required to obtain the import and export licences. These licences are now processed and issued electronically.
The main stages through which the dematerialisation project has gone are as follows:
- The launching of a pilotphase for the dematerialisation of import licences in September 2014;
- The publication of an order of the Ministry of Foreign Trade setting out the procedures for the dematerialisation of import and export licences in June 2015;
- Effective dematerialisation of Import licences from June 2015;
- Effective dematerialisation of export licences from February 2016.
This reform has contributed to:
- Total dematerialisation of import and export documents;
- Simplification of import and export procedures;
- Improving the country's ranking in the field of crossborder trade.
