Since its first edition in 2014, the annual conference of the PortNet Single Window has grown to become a key annual event for national economic operators and international experts in this area.
The third and fourth editions of this conference were organised respectively in December 2017 and November 2018, under the auspices of the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water and in partnership with The United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) and the International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA). Both editions were attended by more than 800 participants representing public and private bodies, international organisations, and national and international experts. The work of this conference focused on the role of single windows in improving the efficiency of the supply chain and the competitiveness of countries as well as their role in strengthening the ability of countries to innovate and adopt new technologies, by relying mainly on the collective intelligence of the public and private sectors.
CNEA’s secretariat attended the work of the said events and shed valuable light on the role of the national committee for business environment, as a platform for public-private dialogue, in implementing measures and actions aimed at simplifying the foreign trade procedures. These events also provided an opportunity to emphasise the vital role of the virtual single window as an innovative tool for improving the business environment.
